Symbolism
For my MSc thesis, an agent-based model was developed to explore the cardiovascular health burden of women in the Hague. I developed a logo to accompany the research. The logo represents an artificial heart that can be turned on and off at will, just like the simulation model. Once I graduated from my MSc studies, I was inspired by the logo to create a caricaturesque animation to signal to friends and family that I have returned from the educational battlefield and am now ready to go on new adventures.The artificial heart represents an agent from the simulation model, and can thus receive and send electronic signals to other agents. Mid-animation, Snailbugles are seen puffing out blue flames. The flames are a homage to the Flame of Prometheus, which is part of the logo of TU Delft University of Technology.
The Snailbugles themselves are reminiscent of bugles playing the Taps, and thus represent me graduating.
